We live in a time that has much more accessible information than ever before. Page 138 of Power Up For Success explains how the brain functions and what we have to do to utilize more of it. You can realize memory improvement. Relaxing music like Meditations In Light and Sound rebalances the mind and body to function better.
It
is important to have access to both hemispheres of the brain as each
hemisphere allows us to utilize more of our capacity for functioning at
higher levels. The left hemisphere controls our reasoning, linear thinking,
our five senses, motor and body movements, and a memory bank for about 24
hours (at that time the memory is shifted
over to the right side of the
brain). The right hemisphere controls the emotional, the unconscious, the
hypothalamus (which controls the autonomic nervous system), the intuitive,
the immune system, the
long term memory bank, lymph nodes (contain defenses
for diseases), and the creative aspects (such as art, music, cooking). Most
of us live a majority of our lives using much more of our left brain. In
order to center,
relax and control the autonomic nervous system, we must be able to shift
over to the right side. For long term memories and to get to our
unconscious, the pathways to these two hemispheres are through using
meditation, breath and relaxation techniques.
