At the end of every October comes a time when shyness is hidden in the masquerade of the season. Halloween is the time to let it all hang out. Got
your Halloween costume yet? Are you ready for the shtick? Dr
Maddy presents a thoughtful reflection on the costumes that we all
wear. Read the following chapter titled Halloween taken from her
book The Psychology of Synergy.
Let it all hang out. Hiding takes place in many forms weight, clothes, shyness and by being withdrawn. Walk tall, dress well, smile and the world perceives a certain type of person passing by. Dress that same individual poorly, walk with hunched shoulders, droop and stare vapidly and the world turns its back - no interest. What a difference appearance makes.
We would invest with the first type and not give a dime ,to the other unless
it was as a form of charity. So we all dress up, put on a disguise and the
masquerade proceeds with us or without us as everyone is doing the same
shtick at one time or another. Will the original YOU please stand up?
Dr Maddy frames the
thoughts we paint. Take that Halloween costume out of the closet.
Enjoy the festival and the masquerade. Leave your shyness at the
door. Then remember that Halloween is only one day out of the year.
Will the original you show up for the other 364 days?
